» A WORD FROM THE MAYOR

Hello to you all,

On behalf of the municipal council, I am delighted to welcome you all to the Sainte-Flavie web site. I hope that you will enjoy your "virtual" visit of our home and that you will want to come and see our marvellous municipality in the future.

The site serves multiple purposes : a meeting and information place for community members, an economic and tourism promotional tool, a vehicle for social development, a source of information on municipal affairs, data bank containing documents and photos.

Whether you are a resident of the region or a visitor, whether you already know the municipality or not, this interactive site will put you in contact with everything you want to know about Sainte-Flavie. There is also plenty of first-hand information that we trust will make you want to stay in Sainte-Flavie with us.

In conclusion, it is important to remember that Sainte-Flavie's wealth is much more than its magnificent vistas and varied attractions. The municipality is known for its vitality and its progressive development. Its greatest strength is the quality of the people who live and work here, the people who are the solid foundation which supports our development and prosperity. Our strength is in our people.

Enjoy your visit !

The Mayor,

Jean-François Fortin

» SYMBOLISM OF EMBLEM

The municipality's emblem represents key elements of the environment, specifically:

The Sun : Sainte-Flavie has particularly beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

The Door Frame symbolizes tourism in Sainte-Flavie: it represents the gateway to the Gaspé Peninsula and the spirit of warm-hearted welcome (open door) that visitors will find there.

The Shells symbolize our geographic location on the river.

The Wave is also a vital, dynamic reference to our coastline as well as the visual element that extends beyond the frame, inviting you to get involved in the total picture.
